Sidecar, our small bar at 129 Bathust Street, will see a cameo appearance from one of the best in the business:  2011 Gourmet Traveller Sommelier of the year and all round Italian unit Giorgio De Maria.  Taking leave from the pulpit at his own phenomenial small bar - Sydney's 121BC in Surry Hills - Giorgio will be hosting two very special wine dinners at Sidecar, pairing the sensational wines of AA Panevino in Sardinia, Italy, to food from the same region prepared by chef Luke Burgess. Partners in crime at the best of times, this collaboration between Giorgio and Luke is not to be missed, with these 7 course dinners + matched wines scheduled for Sunday 5th and Monday 6th August 2012. Giorgio is a very fitting first guest, but stay tuned for further special events at Sidecar.

Amongst extremely good company including MONA and other iconic Tasmanian projects, Garagistes gained a guernsey at the recent 2012 Tasmanian Architecture Awards, taking out the Interior Architecture Award. So they say anyway.  We're making some changes and taking a small holiday.  We'll be closed from July 16th - 31st (inclusive) for our annual vacation, and for the winter period Garagistes will open an hour later at 6pm Wednesday + Thursday, but still at 5pm Friday + Saturday.  

Sidecar will remain open right throughout the closure at Garagistes.
